What Group Leaders Are Saying…
“For the past 4 years we’ve led life-changing yoga retreats to Willka T’ika in the Sacred Valley of Peru. Willka T’ika is the quintessential set and setting to experience authentic Andean culture while diving deeper into yoga practice. It is a Yogi’s dream, with Chakra Meditation Gardens, inspiring practice spaces, and world class healthy and conscious dining. It is the perfect take off point for excursions and exploration into the surrounding sacred Inkan sites. Best of all, however, is the loving and kind staff of Willka T’ika who make you feel at home.”
“After visiting and scouting many retreats around the world over the past 23 years of teaching, Willka T’ika is now among the top of our list. The attention to detail, incredible staff and amazing food is just the beginning. The facilities are spectacular, a well-planned yoga space and their ability to seamlessly support our large group is beyond words. I highly recommend it.”
“An experience unlike any other…This was our first Mystery School retreat under the McKenna Academy, and as ever, I am happy to be working with Willka T’ika on such transformative programs. There is no better place in the Sacred Valley, perhaps in the world, for such events to take place. The magic of Willka T’ika’s Chakra Gardens combined with the spiritual power of sound meditation makes for an experience unlike any other.”
“I have traveled the world and seen many fascinating places, and Willka T’ika is the one I plan to return to again and again. The gardens are exquisite, the food is brimming with vitality and the location is conducive to experiencing the ancient essence. Our warm-hearted hosts, Carol and Mark, have created an atmosphere of beauty and tranquility. Together with the very loving indigenous people of Peru, they have handcrafted an ideal and nurturing retreat. The combination of a daily Yoga practice, meditation in the gardens and hiking in the Andes re-connects us with the Earth. If you visit Willka T’ika you will experience the heart and soul of Peru.”
“Willka T’ika is a paradise that allows you to slip into the Peruvian culture with a deep ahhh! The gardens, the staff, and the owner Carol Cumes are exquisite like the unexplainable walls of Machu Picchu. It feels so right to stay in a retreat that supports the local community, that promotes organic sustainable farming and that nourishes its guests with the wisdom of Peru. Thank you.”
“One if the most magical places I’ve ever been and ever facilitated a retreat. I highly recommend it!! It feels like you are completely enveloped by powerful sacred space.”
“Willka T’ika is the literal garden of Eden. Walking through the grounds is like being in Paradise. There are hundreds of types of flowers, plants, and blooming trees with fruits. You can’t help but feel grounded and at peace. This is my second time at Willka T’ika. I feel like I’m coming home. The staff is friendly and amazing and make me feel like family. They take care of all your needs. I love the yoga room and the food is over the top. I feel good bringing a group here knowing that we will be cared for and have a great time.”
“The best experience of my life. The food, the service, accommodations, were all beyond expectation. Our guide was spectacular. The tours were breathtaking, and the spiritual ceremonies and shaman were some of the best I’ve ever encountered. I will definitely be going back to Willka T’ika!”
“This place is truly magical! The staff creates a feeling of being home. The land, the people, the sacredness of this country, is so incredible that words cannot convey. I look forward to bringing more groups of people to this special place – Willka T’ika.”
“Willka T’ika is a true gift. After 22 years of teaching yoga and guiding adventure travel, we are so happy to have found this special place to stay. Fresh organic food made and served by loving Quechua staff, inspirational gardens, the great yoga room make this a place where we can feel at home while feeling a connection with a culture that we love. The Sacred Valley is right out the door. The Spirit of the Andes is alive here!”
“Willka T’ika feeds the soul on many levels. I came to this beautiful place to help people explore their inner shadows. There were many sacred, intimate moments I will never forget. The staff, like the famous gardens that blanket the grounds, contributed to that safe environment through their attention to the details of our needs. Willka T’ika calls to me. Already, I am dreaming of returning.”
“Carol and the staff of locals make this a most special place. Our guide and co-adventurer, spoke with such passion for her homeland that we all grew to love her and Peru. The organization and attention to detail helped our group feel right at home. The whole group said that they had never been fed so well and with such consistent quality – even on excursions. All details were seen to with great care. We plan to return to the beautiful gardens of Willka T’ika and the Sacred land of Peru.”

Retreat excursions include guided outings to Machu Picchu, Cusco, the mystical Moray Circles, the P’isaq Ruins, and the Salt Mines of Maras. All programs include traditional Andean ceremonies with authentic Q’ero healers from the high mountains.
There is a wide range of optional ceremonies, therapies and day trips that will create the most unique experience for your group. Some of our most popular include the Coca Leaf Reading, Andean music performance, Cacao Ceremony, Sound Healing, Sweat Lodge Ceremony with medicinal plunge pool, and outings to an Andean Craft Market. In-Residence Retreats
This option is perfect for intensely scheduled workshops, like yoga teacher trainings or other educational offers. In-Residence retreats allow your group to experience the best of the Sacred Valley right within Willka T’ika’s grounds. Our chefs will prepare nourishing and restorative organic vegetarian cuisine, most of which is sourced from our herb and vegetable gardens. Your group will enjoy deepening their practice in our sun-drenched yoga shalas or in the shade of a thousand-year-old lucuma tree. Between workshop sessions, there will be plenty of time to explore and reflect in our world-renowned Seven Chakra Gardens, characterized by many as a “Garden of Eden” and of indescribable beauty.
We can also help you incorporate quintessential experiences into your schedule – like a day trip to Machu Picchu or an authentic Andean Craft Market, a Cacao Ceremony or Coca Leaf Reading. A Welcoming Retreat for All…
There is a place for everyone at Willka T’ika. One of our founding principles is the Quechua concept of ayni or reciprocity. Ayni roughly translates to “today for you, tomorrow for me,” in other words our energy and fates are intertwined, dependent on each other. We apply this concept to our sustainability practices as well as to our guest experience. Within our gardens and grounds, there is a warm, hospitable, and inclusive atmosphere. Feeling safe and relaxed, you are invited to focus on self-care, deep healing, and personal growth. We have had the pleasure of hosting a diverse clientele of group retreats: yogis, photographers, writers, healing artists, cultural adventurers, team facilitators, couples, and families from around the globe. Willka T’ika is also a preferred destination for solo women travelers and LGBTQ+ singles and couples. Our owners personally welcome guests, host garden tours, join yoga classes, and drop in at dinner to chat and answer your questions. At Willka T’ika, make yourself at home, connect with nature, and cultivate holistic wellbeing.
Accommodations
Willka T’ika offers an environment of mindful luxury. Our guest rooms are nestled in charming spaces throughout the gardens with views of the spectacular Andes mountains and Willka T’ika’s breathtaking flowers and trees. Andean themes, Feng Shui principles, indigenous artwork, and sustainable, local materials inspire the rooms’ design. Each room is named for the Andean medicinal plant that grows at the doorstep of its private entrance. Fresh-cut blossoms from our gardens welcome guests, and cozy hot-water bottles warm your bed at night. The retreat can accommodate up to 65 guests throughout 35 elegant rooms and suites. Room types include singles, doubles, and triples.

Cuisine
At Willka T’ika, luxury and wellness go hand in hand. Each day, our local chefs lovingly prepare organic vegetarian cuisine to nourish your body and spirit. Experience a fusion of Andean flavors, unique local grains, herbs, and vegetables harvested daily from our own gardens. We welcome vegan, gluten-free, and special dietary requests.
Willka T’ika is proud to offer the only gourmet vegetarian hotel kitchen in Peru’s Sacred Valley. Our gardens are strictly organic, and fresh, restorative meals are served daily.
Breakfast: Wake with the sun as it rises over the Andean peaks and start your day with a cup of freshly harvested herbal tea or roasted organic, Quillabamba coffee, grown on our staff’s family farms. Each morning, the buffet includes breads from a local bakery, fresh eggs, fruits and avocados from the subtropical Machu Picchu area, and homemade muesli prepared with a variety of Andean grains.
Lunches, when included, are served family-style, or packed for a day’s outing.
Dinner will delight your taste buds and rejuvenate your whole being. A hearty soup accompanies a freshly harvested salad. The vegetarian entrees often include quinoa and kiwicha, the grains that gave Incan warriors strength, and tarwi, a delicious Andean legume that contains more protein than red meat. Cultivate an improved sense of wellbeing as you indulge in our chefs’ inspired Andean comfort food.

FAQ
How will our group get from Cusco airport to Willka T’ika?
What is the weather like?
The Sacred Valley has the most moderate weather in the Andes which means generally sunny warm days, and cool nights. Unless you’re planning a serious trek, there is no bad time to come to the Sacred Valley. Since weather can change dramatically at high altitude, it is always wise to have a hat, rain/wind jacket and a few layers.
March through May (the Andean fall months) are sunny, and the mountains and fields are beautifully green. Soft rains may fall at night in February & March.
June through August (the winter months) are sunny and dry. After sunset, it gets cold enough for a sweater or jacket. Frost occurs only rarely.
September through November (the lovely Andean spring months) see warmer nights. Soft rains at night may begin in November.
December through February, summer vegetables and fruits ripen, and the Willka T’ika garden is in full bloom. Rains, if they come, are over quickly. January marks the beginning of the summer rainy season. Mornings are often clear and dry, and the rains arrive in the afternoon and continue through the night.
Be prepared for relatively high elevations. Approximate elevations above sea-level: Willka T’ika’s 9,420 feet, Cusco’s 11,150 feet, Machu Picchu 7,800 feet
What is the WIFI access?
How are the yoga rooms equipped?
We have two large yoga rooms which accommodate 60 and 40 students respectively as well as several other indoor and outdoor ceremonial areas. Thus, Willka T’ika can comfortably host two groups at once with maximum privacy. Our sun-filled yoga rooms are fully equipped with mats, blocks, blankets, heaters, and sound systems.
How do we get to Machu Picchu?
All of our fully inclusive programs include at least a one-day excursion to Machu Picchu. This has to be reserved in advance as train tickets, entry tickets, buses, transfers, and guides must all be arranged. Some leaders may choose to offer Machu Picchu as an optional extension before or after their program. Some groups choose to spend a night in Aguas Calientes, at the foot of Machu Picchu where there are several comfortable and convenient hotels. This allows them to return to the Citadel a second time and add a popular hike to the program.
