Fresh-cut blossoms from our gardens welcome guests, and cozy hot-water bottles warm your bed at night creating the perfect environment for self-care, introspection, and transformation.
Cuisine
At Willka T’ika, luxury and wellness go hand in hand. Each day, our chefs lovingly prepare organic vegetarian cuisine to nourish your body and spirit. Experience a fusion of Andean flavors, unique local grains, herbs, and vegetables harvested daily from our own gardens. We welcome vegan, gluten-free, and special dietary requests.
Willka T’ika is proud to offer the only gourmet vegetarian hotel kitchen in Peru’s Sacred Valley. Our gardens are strictly organic. Fresh, restorative meals are served daily.
Breakfast: Wake with the sun as it rises over the Andean peaks and start your day with a cup of freshly harvested herbal tea or roasted organic, Quillabamba coffee, grown on our staff’s family farms. Each morning, the buffet includes breads from a local bakery, fresh eggs, fruits and avocados from the subtropical Machu Picchu area, and homemade muesli prepared with a variety of superfood Andean grains.
Lunches will restore and sustain you after a morning of introspection or adventure. Using the freshest vegetables and herbs from our organic gardens, the chefs will compliment regional delicacies with savory notes. Medicinal teas prepared for your specific needs will enhance the meal’s flavors and aid in digestion to prepare you for your next experience.
Dinner will delight your taste buds and rejuvenate your whole being. A hearty soup accompanies a freshly harvested salad. The vegetarian entrees often include quinoa and kiwicha, the grains that gave Incan warriors strength, and tarwi, a delicious Andean legume that contains more protein than red meat. Our fates are intertwined…
One of our founding principles is the Quechua concept of ayni or reciprocity. Ayni roughly translates to “today for you, tomorrow for me,” in other words our energy and fates are intertwined, dependent on each other. We apply this concept to our sustainability practices as well as to our guest experience. Within our gardens and grounds, there is a warm, hospitable, and inclusive atmosphere. Feeling safe and relaxed, you are invited to focus on self-care, deep healing, and personal growth. We have had the pleasure of hosting a diverse clientele of executives, business leaders, entrepreneurs, wellness teachers, coaches, photographers, writers, healing artists, outdoor adventurers, visionaries, couples, and families from around the globe. Willka T’ika is also a preferred destination for solo women travelers and LGBTQ+ singles and couples. Our owners personally welcome guests, host garden tours, join yoga classes, and drop in at dinner to chat and answer your questions. At Willka T’ika, make yourself at home, connect with nature, and cultivate holistic wellbeing.

How do we get to Machu Picchu?
All of our fully inclusive programs include at least a one-day excursion to Machu Picchu. This has to be reserved in advance as train tickets, entry tickets, buses, transfers, and guides must all be arranged. Some leaders may choose to offer Machu Picchu as an optional extension before or after their program. Some groups choose to spend a night in Aguas Calientes, at the foot of Machu Picchu where there are several comfortable and convenient hotels. This allows them to return to the Citadel a second time and add a popular hike to the program.
What is the weather like?
The Sacred Valley has the most moderate weather in the Andes which means generally sunny warm days, and cool nights. Unless you’re planning a serious trek, there is no bad time to come to the Sacred Valley. Since weather can change dramatically at high altitude, it is always wise to have a hat, rain/wind jacket and a few layers.
March through May (the Andean fall months) are sunny, and the mountains and fields are beautifully green. Soft rains may fall at night in February & March.
June through August (the winter months) are sunny and dry. After sunset, it gets cold enough for a sweater or jacket. Frost occurs only rarely.
September through November (the lovely Andean spring months) see warmer nights. Soft rains at night may begin in November.
December through February, summer vegetables and fruits ripen, and the Willka T’ika garden is in full bloom. Rains, if they come, are over quickly. January marks the beginning of the summer rainy season. Mornings are often clear and dry, and the rains arrive in the afternoon and continue through the night.
Be prepared for relatively high elevations. Approximate elevations above sea-level: Willka T’ika’s 9,420 feet, Cusco’s 11,150 feet, Machu Picchu 7,800 feet
